The Last Ember
An empire built around a sleeping sun god, slowly bleeding his light for a thousand years.
A thousand years ago the sun god Auralon fell and now sleeps beneath the capital, Solmaren, inside the Sun Vault. The empire of Orenthe keeps him “sleeping” while his six embers — shards of divine light torn from him at the Fall — burn in city-temples called Hearths. The embers power all magic and all of Orenthe’s industry, and no one knows that the Harvest is a slow bleed: the embers are the god’s own blood, and Orenthe has been exsanguinating him for a millennium.
